License
NPC TalkKit is commercial software, not open source. Buying it grants a perpetual licence to use it in unlimited projects you own.
This page is a summary
The binding terms are in the LICENSE file shipped with the addon. Where this page and that file disagree, the file wins.
What you may do
- Use it in unlimited projects, commercial or not.
- Modify it for your own use.
- Keep it in private repositories, CI, and internal asset libraries.
- Ship games and other end products built with it.
- No attribution required.
A company licence covers that company's employees and contractors, for that company's projects.
What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, publish, or share the addon or its source — original or modified.
- Upload it to a public repository.
- Ship it as a standalone addon, plugin, library, SDK, template, or asset pack.
- Include it in a product where recipients get it as a reusable development tool.
- Transfer your licence without written permission.
The line is between a finished product and a development tool. A game that contains TalkKit code is fine. Anything that hands TalkKit on to someone else as something they could build with is not.
Contractors
Contractors may use it while working on your projects, and must stop when that work ends — unless they hold their own licence.
Updates and support
Purchase does not by itself guarantee any period of updates or support; see the product page. Updates may change supported Godot versions and APIs. Support requests go to vanquyt.com/support.
The demo is included
Both demos ship in the package, beside the addon: copy demo/ next to addons/ to run them. The 3D one is built from Godot primitives. The forest platformer uses third-party artwork, all of it released for commercial use and redistribution:
| Artwork | Creator | Terms |
|---|---|---|
| SunnyLand Forest of Illusion | Luis Zuno (Ansimuz) | CC0 |
| Samurai [Animated] | DezrasDragons | CC0 |
| Viking Shieldmaiden [Animated] | DezrasDragons | CC0 |
Each pack's licence and attribution sit beside it under demo/platformer_showcase/assets/third_party/. Those terms cover only that artwork and grant nothing about NPC TalkKit itself, which stays under the licence above.
Third-party code
None. The addon has no runtime dependency beyond Godot — no telemetry, no network requests, no API keys, no AI service. Compatibility →
